Santo Vitale
Musician, Craftsman, Drum Circle facilitator certified VMC, external teacher at the schools.
Hi, more than saying who I am I like to say what I do.
I am a craftsman and a musician specialized in the African rhythm.
In my life I chose music because I read in the eyes of people the energy that gives!
From a team building to a primary class, when I share an experience through the rhythm I read in the eyes of the people joy and wonder, desire to be together and harmony.
On a Friday in 2002 while I was handmaking percussion in my garage, a percussionist friend of mine looked at me and said, “But what are you doing alone in your garage, you have to open a place in the city where people can meet you” and so, on Monday I found a small workshop in Via del Parlamento next to a cabinetmaker who was immediately happy to welcome me.
More then 20 years have passed since that day and music has always been my partner.
I love handmake percussion instruments because when I play them I know that inside every “box” there is work, research, experiment, there’s all my passion and I’m proud!
Music is my happiness and I love to share it with others people … that’s all đ
During these years, together with my crazy friend, who gave me the imput to change my life, I founded the Associazione Culturale Accademia La bottega delle Percussioni.
A thanksgiving to Salvo Compagno, Daniele Schimmenti, Claudia Vitale and the fantastic staff of music school teachers, who today share their energy following my philosophy.
We also create an orchestra of 35 elements to animate the exchange “Teach – student” and… we have a lot of fun.
Our school has organized workshops of percussionists and life masters such as Famadou konatè, Fabouba OularÊ, Thomas Guei, Bolokada Condè, Sana Camarà , Giovanni Imparato, Baba Sissoko, Bruno Genero, Carlo Rizzo, Alfio Antico, Massimo Carrano, Dimas Camargo, Arnaldo Vacca, Ellede Bandini, Iarin Munari, Massimo Carrano, Francesca Incudine, Harshil Filippo Chiostri and Arthur Hull who in particular inspired me in the world of Drum Circle.
The world of the Drum Circle in particular gave me the opportunity to expand the community in Italy followeing Drum Circle facilitators training, with Harshil Filippo Chiostri and Claudia Vitale.
In 2021 I qualified Drum Circle facilitator with the Arthur Hull method – VMC (6-days-Training)
I make an interesting Drum Circle Facilitator set possible to buy online in our shop.
The thing I absolutely love is working in schools and with special needs, there, the energy has a wonderful vibration, every person expresses himself, bringing out the “enfant terrible” that is in him.
This is me and luckily I met you.
